Historic Rhinesmith House 825 West Wayne Street -Townhouse, 3bd/2.5ba

This is a really unique apartment for this neighborhood. It is located in the Historic Rhinesmith House. It is a very large (2,000sf) two story three bedroom, two and a half bedroom townhouse. When you enter the house you come into a small vestibule with a tile floor. You pass through a second door in a small foyer and are faced by the stairway to the second floor, and a large archway leading into the front parlor. The entire apartment is hardwood floor with neat designs in the layout, high ceilings and neat light fixtures. The front parlor has an original non-functioning fireplace, hardwood floors, and lots of light. As you look south you can see thru the next two rooms with large archways creating an open space +/- 30ft. This includes a second parlor with original non-functioning fireplace, a large coat closet and half bath. The third room is a formal dining room with nice wood floors, wall sconces and a neat dining room chandelier, a leaded glass window that creates a pass thru to the kitchen. The kitchen is nice with neat built in shelves, walk in pantry, back stair to the second floor and a rear door to back yard.

As you go up the front stairway to the second floor you arrive in an especially wide hallway with high ceilings and neat light fixtures. The hall runs along the inside wall the full length of the building. Off the hall to the front of the house is the largest of the three bedrooms. It has a large room with a  large archway that opens to a nice sized dressing area or bed chamber. Because it is on the front of the house it has several large windows that face Wayne street, it also has hardwood floors, ceiling fan and neat light fixture.

The second bedroom is nice size with high ceilings, two large windows and hardwood floors. The third bedroom is larger than the second bedroom and smaller than the front bedroom, it also has high ceilings, and it is carpeted.

At the end of the hall there are two nice bathrooms. The first is what we call the “Antique” bathroom. It has the original stained wainscoting, pedestal sink, built in medicine cabinet, claw-foot tub, white hexagon ceramic tile floor and also a fiberglass shower with shower door. Really neat! The “modern bathroom” has a pedestal sink, linen closet, neo-angle shower, washer/dryer hookup, and carpet.

This is a really nice townhouse, with a real historic feel, lots of character and lots of space and bathrooms. If you are looking for a large apartment or house, this could be the place you’ve been dreaming about.
